  • Julia, I flew right after the time this type of situation was making the rounds on the news. Yes, I said hi first. We had a pleasant flight. But I wanted them to know that I was aware of current thoughts and if they had an issue to please let me know. These are not excuses.

  • How does it compromise the safety of others? Would you then include senior citizens who don't move quickly? What about children? People in wheelchairs? Blind people? Parapalegics? Deaf people? Intellectually challenged? All these people would also compromise your safety in an emergency.

  • J-dubs, you're an idiot, since we're being honest. Please let me know where I made excuses. Since you are salivating at the thought of me being brutally honest...yes, I'm fat. I am above the recommended weight for my height. I have serious curves and a bust that many women pay for.

  • Actually HATR_HURTER, it's harder to lose it if you have a serious weight issue. Because it's not just the weight they have to deal with, it's themselves.

  • No, they didn't say anything because there was no need. I was not in their space at all. I was not touching anyone. They had their space and were not crowded. I may be larger woman, but my body does not go awry in all directions. They were very nice people (unlike many on this discussion board).

  • Actually, no. I am very aware of my presence on a flight. I book the window seat and make sure I don't intrude on anyone else's area. I make sure my seat mate knows to let me know if there is an issue. I've never had anyone complain about sitting next to me.

  • To all airlines: Shrink all seats down to fit more people on the plane and everyone can be to big to sit in the seat and everyone can pay more. Problem solved and you can make more money.
